Fritz beat me too the punch.... two former UTLX tank cars were set up as auxiliary tenders (water cars) for the two rotaries in the 1960's. The cars were set up with valves to turn the water on and off and standard tender tank hose was used. They did not feed into the rotary's tender, but instead the left injector drew from the rotary tender, the right injector got it's water from the water car by way of a long feed pipe attached to the frame on the right side of the rotary tender frame.

I'll tell you, getting the right side injector to suck water up that long pipe - up a 4% grade - was a real good trick.
