Very good! Maybe my erroneous jpeg label fueled this excellent discussion!
Now more slides from the same collection...
What the hell is this?! Was this the paint scheme for the fictitious CC&SJ engine that pushed the flat car over to the D&RG main line that was filmed at Elk Park (although the tender was painted primer red and had no lettering in this scene)? I think maybe it was and then painted in the bumblebee scheme for the crash. Check out Denver & Rio Grande and be ready with the pause button...
Maybe it was a trial paint scheme for Denver & Rio Grande that was later nixed? Or was it for an entirely different movie all together?
Frankly, I don’t know but worth some discussion anyway...
