Sad to say goodbye to another fine gentleman and railroad preservationist. (Seems that so many have passed in the last couple years.)

As fellow loco exhibitors at Railfair '99, my brother Richard and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and talking with Henry. He had a bottomless knowledge of the locomotives and lumber railroad history of N. California.

His fantantic book "Steam in the Redwoods" (1988, co-authored with Lynwood Carranco) is a staple of my library.
