Thank you all for your interest. We currently have no freight rolling stock that can operate on 30" gauge track. But there are some good changes coming down the pike, so photo specials may be a possibility in the future. The reason for the railroad is quite simple.
When Charlie Bovey saved, both Virginia and Nevada cities, he decided a railroad was a good way to get between them. He managed to acquire locomotives and rolling stock from a Great Falls smelter and because they were 30" gauge, the AGS has always been such. The line began operation in 1964. The moonlight runs are not to be missed! Heading up the gulch under a full moon with steam on the head end is an amazing experience. They fill up quick though.
