Some considerations--a President's Special would indicate that the president of the railroad, Al Harper in this case, would want his private car on the tail end where it belongs--after all, it is his special. So if he opens up the ride to guests who pay a premium, it seems they accept the status quo. Rename it the Railfan's Special, and then play with the consist and you won't get to have the B-7 as part of the mix.The very first time Harper had the President's Special some years back, it was a shorter train and by invitation and those of us who rode it were guests of the railroad. Now, it is still a very special train but also a revenue source.
Of the various colors I have seen the B7 in--from Pullman Green in 1957 stored inside in Alamosa through Grande Gold to the present red, I think the red color scheme is by far the most effective. The overall effect of the President's Special is very stunning, in my estimation, even with the Silver Vista added in somewhere.
