Dave thanks for posting that overlay. I think that clears things up some. I think what I am seeing as a small mine complex is actually two or three separate buildings that just happen to look like a mine when you line them up at a certain angle. The fact that the eatery and the warehouse are lined up on the spur and not parallel to the main to my eye makes them look like one larger building. The thing that really gives it that mine look is the structure on the warehouse that looks like it could hold the equipment related to a mine shaft. I suppose it could be for some sort of lifting device inside the warehouse to load or unload vehicles or somesuch. The coal chute was evidently dismantled by '41, I think you can see remnants of its foundation still at the base of the embankment in one of the pictures.
So if this was not a small mine at Embudo, where did the coal come from for the chute? Trucked in from somewhere close by?
