Jason,

C&S 8242 was an auto transport car. The end of the car opened up to load cars of the days with a split door. Harry Brunk's " Up Clear Creek on the Narrow Gauge " shows this. The article is in the Nov/Dec 1990 issue of the Narrow Gauge and Short Line Gazette. Page 68 is the start of the article.
