The following photo is on the DPL website and is credited to Otto Perry. The supposed data is July 3, 1938 and shows 462 missing some parts while sitting in the Alamosa yard.

The next picture is by Bob Richardson and shows it running on the RGS in 1945.

Assuming the dates for the pictures are right, sometime between July of 1938 and February of 1939 the old girl was put back together. It makes you wonder if the intention had been to set her aside permanently, if she became an emergency source of parts for another '27, or if she was simply awaiting repair at the time of the first photo.
