Depart Antonito 1:20 AM stuck in snow MP 283 1:30 AM Eng 487 arrived 5:20 AM and pulled us out.
(Light engine 487 had been called out of Alamosa, departing at 3:50 AM to get extra 477 out of snow at MP 283)
Fixed flanger engine 477 at 6:00 AM arrived 426's train at 6:10 AM, broke 2 chains trying to pull engine 470 of ice, could not move engine, returned to Antonito at 7:10 AM and shovelled wye and eat. Back to 426 at 8:15 AM and pulled draw bar off front end engine 470, went to Antonito for steam hose and fittings. Returned to 426 last time at 9:45 AM and melted ice under engines till 1:00 PM when get engines loose. took until 2:15 PM to get train out and (to) Antonito 2:30 PM and tie up 3:15 PM. Tried to turn flanger and put away, snow was very hard in cuts had to face drifts to hold plow down.

9:30 PM Purcill at Cimarron cab and flanger stuck in snow MP 334. Gribben stuck 1 1/2 miles west of Cerro - out (of) water, get water and section men go back dig flanger out come to Cimarron, turn and go get Gribben out. Purcill Cimarron 11:25 PM, be out soon as coal engine, section men say snow bad in canyon.
