I have convinced the wife that we must go to the Grand Canyon for our family vacation this summer - and, ahem, ride the Grand Canyon Railroad to arrive at our final destination.

Was not able to sell an alternate route back to Texas via, Chama or Durango.

Are there any other railroads worth visiting with in a reasonable (according to the wife) distance of about 100-200 miles?

Narrow gauge is preffered, but Standard Gauge, especially steam powered, will do.
