We'll when I was down there and talked to Marvin, Ed, and Steve I was told that the thing with the 497 is the fire box....go fig....but the the problem was the chassis on the 492 so the topic of the discussion was to take two bad engines and make one good one. I wouldn't worry too much about the 37's, for the most part all of them are still around, and in a year or two I bet at least one will be saved and returned to service.
