Right-of-way is more or less intact with the biggest disruption at Howardsville where the tailings ponds of the Howardsville mill obliterate where the main line ran, but it can be built around. That mill is owned by Colorado Goldfields and they intend to resume mining at Gladstone and mill the ore in Howardsville. Ownership issues are the major problem between Howardsville and Eureka with most of the land being patented placer claims in private ownership. We haven't even discussed this idea with any of the owners who are mostly absentee owners. Between Silverton and Howardsville involves some problems with private land, but a lot of it is publicly owned or in county road ownership, and a half mile or so owned by the historical society, including the former mainline that sits about 30 feet from where I'm typing this. And a serious issue is money, manpower, etc. The current economy puts a wet blanket on everything.
