Most of the K-37's were based in Salida and assigned to Marshall Pass amd Monarch unti the closure of line to Alamosa, when they were exchanged for K-36's. Frequently, Salida-based locomotives were used for the "Valley Line" trains, since those trains used Salida-based crews.
