For those interested,more information on the E.& L. K. Railroad can be found in the following books:

West Virginia's Coal and Coke Railway--A B & O Predecessor by Alan Clarke. P. 98 has two photos of barrel staves being loaded on flatcars and p. 126 has a photo of a complete Shay powered train.

Two of the photos are from the Smithsonian Institute photos nos. 85-24082 and 85-24083. It is possible that there may be more photos in this series on the railroad.

Steam and Thunder in the Timber by Michael Koch. p. 303 has a photo of a regauged Shay of the W. M. Ritter Lunber Company which was built for the E. & L. K.
