I visited the museum in April 2006 and didn't realize what a cool collection you guys have there ! I stumbled across the museum while out roaming the net and then read the Trains article. I was back in Chicago for a few weeks and drove out there. We rode behind the little German (?) steam engine and explored the rest of the park. I too was quite impressed by the Shay ! It had just been finished, I think except for some of the wood in the cab and had been run the previous day (?), so was still hot. I couldn't believe the before (fire) and after - beautiful restoration job !!
I wish I could get back there for your steam-up days till see the rest of the goodies !!
