Saxonia clarification

July 26, 2001 07:28AM
Some clarification is needed here. Saxonia had two operations. One was the traditional smelter operation used for the mines..which are located very close. At least three of the dozen plus holes are still visible. The second operation was lead reduction using the Pattinsen process. This was a larger volume operation and the Fairplay Flume Newspaper reports rr car loads of lead ore arriving from the Breckenridge area mines.
