I first met Virgil in Jan. 1966 at Mt. Shasta City on one of the PLA "Snow Trips" with McCloud #25.

My self, Virgil, and a couple of others Saved Donald Duke's life when he fell through the snow and got buried at Pondosa water tanks. Four or five of us pulled him up out of the snow by his hands, which were clutching his camera! Virgil led the effort. He was a true character, and I will always remember him fondly. God Bless him.
