Steve, your Nomex flight gloves sound interesting. Are they thin enough that you can manipulate dials and buttons fairly easily? How warm are they in relatively severe winter temps? TIA.

Scott, Nomex is maybe about as thick as a sock or a little more,(they fit very tight to the skin) but they are pretty dense if that makes sense? They have a leather palm for durability. I don't have a current pair but have used them in the past and felt they kept my hands fairly warm. Their not fool proof by any means and your hands will get cold if you don't put them in a pocket. I used to wear them while riding my motorcycle in the winter and when it got colder I would throw over them some leather gloves and I'd be fine.
Hope this answers the question? I plan on getting another pair soon but live to far from a surplus store right now. I could order a pair online I suppose.....

Oh one more thing, Nomex is fire retardent... to a certain degree of course.
