The doom and gloom threads are getting to me, so I thought I would ask a different question:
What NG and RR preservation happenings are you thankful for?
I can think of a ton of items:
I am thankful that I was able to see RGS #20 being restored;
I am thankful that I've seen #315 run;
I am thankful that I've ridden behind E&P #4, with Dan at the throttle;
I am thankful that I've been to two Tweetsie Railfan weekends and had almost complete run of the property during both of them;
I am thankful that I was able to see the EBT last another year;
I am thankful for the EBT's new handicapped accessible rider gon (Thanks FEBT!);
I am thankful that the D&SNG addressed their smoke issues;
I am thankful that I was at the C&TS on the very day that the Texans held the train up;
I am thankful for this forum, which is one of the few places in the world where teenagers are regularly interacting with 70+ year olds.
I am thankful for Don for his creating this forum, thankful for John and other past hosts of this forum, and thankful that Nathan is doing the tech-support work necessary to keep the forum up and running!
[Knocking on Wood] I am thankful that all my favorite railroads appear to have had a safe year;
Etc; etc; etc; etc!
What about the rest of you?
