This survey is by no means a scientific opinion poll (as the Herald points out), and therefore is unable to accurately gauge public opinion about this matter.
The results will tell us nothing except for the feelings of Herald readers who choose to respond (and now maybe a few NG discussion board readers who may not have otherwise even seen the survey). This undoubtedly is only a small demographic of the Durango population (and will probably even include people who don't even live in Durango), and therefore is useless as far as telling us how the general population of the town feels about the issue. That may not be the point, however.
The results of this survey don't really tell us anything about what the general population of Durango thinks about the Railroad Square, and shouldn't be taken as such.
