Most likely, you talked to Bill Tiggs. In 1958/9 there was substantial inbound rail freight for the reopening Sunnyside mine, and that lasted for a very short time until the D&RGW forced that traffic onto the Rio Grande Motorway. Tiggs did in town lcl deliveries in a pickup truck. The D&RGW got around having to haul ore concentrates when the Mayflower Mill reopened as the result of reopening the Sunnyside Mine by offering rail rates via the Motorway though the Sunnyside (Standard Metals) opted to haul the cons by contracted trucks to Ridgway for rail haulage to the various smelters by standard gauge.
