It would be nice if you would write a little history of "Kahuku". I saw it there in San Francisco, in the window of the Sutro Baths building, for years. It's a handsome little machine. I'm surprised and delighted that you could get a permit to operate the boiler.
As you may know, I restored the Hawaii Railway Company #5. Although Jay Conde arranged the acquistion from the Dillingham Corporation, Norman Clark was primarily responsible for the locomotive being preserved. I never met him, but should have taken the trouble. (I lived in Los Altos and Los Gatos for most of my life.) I've spoken with Mrs. Clark, and tried to contact his daughter, in hope that the family might have some photographs to help docucment the preservation effort.
