The newer cars were in use by the two daily trains. And, the older cars were lighter and seated more passengers. With a K-36 they could haul a train of 11 of the old cars versus 8 of the newer cars.

The special left Chama around 3 pm, I don't remember exactly. We met the w/bd at Lobato.
