Greetings all.
No.9 will be flying white flags Wed afternoon, Sept. 27th. After the last scheduled train out of Silver Plume, which departs at 2:15PM and returning to Silver Plume approx. 3:20PM, we will run an non-revenue "extra" with No.9 and Rio Grande caboose No.0586 out of Silver Plume down the line to pick up the historic freight cars now parked at Hall Tunnel and the Powder House siding. Running back up the hill we will stop for a number of posed photographs and run-bys with this period "photo-freight" train.
All with cameras are welcome. Check in at Silver Plume, approx. 3:30PM, in front of the engine house to coordinate with Dan Adler.
This will be neat! Sure wish we had a C&S caboose to put on the bottom...I did try to work with the Colorado Railroad Museum to borrow their C&S cummy for this move. I regret to report that the museum was not interested. Non-the-less, this will be fun. Our gift shop has some great coffee mugs and t-shirts with images of No.9!
Oh.....and its very possible that the No.9 will be sans brass bands and trim!
Hope to see some of you here.
Cheers,
Steve Torrico
