Backing down from Devils Gate you really can't go much farther becasue some dink went and made a mine claim on the right of way so you can't cross it....so I have been told.
even if that's not the case you still have to cross Guenella Pass and that's is a mighty blind curve to have a crossing on. Beyond that there are buildings that weren't there back in teh day over by OGS and out toward the lake where the line used to run.
My inner foamer always thought it would have been neat to go from OGS to Plume but the ride the way it is, is just the right length for a day trip.
and if those buildings are that darn fragile, why did they survive , blizzards, wind, time and vandolism before restoration but can't seem to stand up to extremly minor vibrations from a railroad?
I used to live in the Snetzer Building in town and the wind woudl shake that place liek an earthquake some nights. I swear the @#$%& in Georgetown are teh same folks that sould sign the petition to ban Water.
