I have been wanting to mention this for a while...
but now it has become quite obvious.
Compare Roger's photos of the cabs of 484 and 489.
The 4's they have been using in recent years just don't look quite right, at least to me,
as a sign-painter since 1975, and having done lettering on quite a few locomotives.
They look like "high water" 4's... like a pelican standing on one leg.
The 4's as applied to the fresh 489 look much better.
Now, just get the 4 fixed on the back of the tender.
