Once again CTSMC and its employees are showing that they have the skills and talents to not only operate the C&TS in a professional manner, but to also be creative in offerings to the public and to leverage the use of the railroad's available assets. Credit also goes to the Commission for its leadership and support of such initiatives.
Not only has the staff been running a full 7-days a week regular schedule, but every Thursday there is a separate Cinder Bear Chama-Cumbres turn, and now on Sundays these very creative experimental Chama-Cumbres family specials -- all with a motive power fleet of just three steam locomotives. This simply would not have been feasible in the past. On top of that there have been the many 315 and Galloping Goose specials which place an extra work load on railroad employees. And the Osier Kitchen crew has done its extra bit by providing victuals at Cumbres for the specials as well as the usual great food at Osier. Meanwhile, the ballasting, aligning, and surfacing of the line continues. Quite a performance. (And thanks to Roger and others for capturing so much of these efforts in photos on the discussion boards).
