In the first picture I am sideways to the camera Gerald is in the background and Earl has his back to the camera. If I recall correctly we were doing lead truck work on the 489 while we were replacing the rear tube sheet knuckle and putting in new tubes and flues. 487 was ahead getting its valves and cylinders bored.

In the second set of pictures we are beside the stub of the main headed for Durango west of the wye.

Shortly after these were taken Dan left the C&TS for Roaring Camp.
