My hats off to the British. The Tornato looks great. She should give years of service and enjoyment.
As for a new North American steam locomotive, I think it can be done.
I think a quality design that can be easly built. It should have nice clean lines, I also think that such a design must to lend it self easly to different wheel arrangements and it must be able to burn either oil or coal for fuel. If such a locomotive is ever built it also must be economical,reliable, affordable,and practical. I also feel that it must have interchageable parts for ease of maintnance.
Who knows such a locomotive might be what the future holds for heritage steam railroading.
