Boneyard east end of Alamosa yard

July 30, 2008 08:35PM avatar
On the east end of the Alamosa yard (east of La Due Avenue) is a boneyard of old freight cars, and relocated buildings up on blocks.

I have a two part question:

A.) In the heyday of the Rio Grande, what stood on the area in which I have mentioned?

B.) In the attached picture is a very interesting building. What is the story behind this structure?

Thank you,
Matthew
