American Heritage downsizing & cutting jobs at Great Smoky Mountains RR

During the week, American Heritage Railways announced that it was shutting down their Dillsboro terminal. Here's some links to some media coverage:

Asheville, NC Citizen Times: "Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Announces Cuts"
and

Asheville, NC Citizen Times: Economy derails Dillsboro train
The Railroad also has a press release posted on their website:
Great Smoky Mountains Railroad - Press Page

Here is a direct link to the press release, which happens to be posted in Microsoft Word format:
Press Release: Dillsboro Depot Closing - Economic Driven Operational Changes
The second paragraph of the press release includes this line: "We feel that this business decision is necessary for the preservation of the Company as a whole..."

I take this as a sign that it is not a good year to be in the tourist railroad business. I hope the D&SNG and Texas State Railroad are doing better!
