Robert, the only cars that used the letter "O" rather than the number "0" were the OA to OZ series. All the rest used the number. Originally the OA to OZ designation was used on standard gauge cars, but as more and more standard gauge cars were purchased or built, the D&RGW switched the OA-OZ numbering scheme to the narrow gauge MOW.
In the 1960s, the D&RGW switched from using the number 0 in MOW cars to using X as the computers of the day could not differintiate between the number 0 and a blank space. As the narrow gauge was on the way out, they never bothered to renumber most of the narrow gauge MOW.
