Goose 5 had its right front wheel/hub off the axle the evening of 4(?) July, reportedly from running hot. Was OK the next trip, so must not have been serious. No problems heard of on Monday (7th).
315 was having steaming problems at the photo shoot at Tanglefoot. Was putting out lots of yellow smoke for awhile. Soni was able to get it up and into Cumbres OK (after putting out a small tie fire.) Sure sounded like it was working hard, coming around Tanglefoot. Rumor was that the smokebox was so full of cinders that drafting was affected. Went down into Chama OK, but we stopped short of the shop switches so it wouldn't have to back the train back from the station.
Roger, I enjoyed meeting you, and room 206 has lots of old-timey feel - everything creaked as bad as my back. Hope to return soon. (Post some of those rainbow shots, please.)
Steve
