One option I'd suggest is - if you intend to produce the final product as a DVD (which I'm assuming you do), then include two audio tracks. One would have just the ambient sound, and the other would mix the ambient sound and narration. That way viewers have the choice between the two.

As for price, figure out your duplication/packaging cost plus a suitable donation to the DRHS. My personal opinion is that $30 would be reasonable, depending on length and quality.
