Kalmbach has photos of mine that I submitted--and they accepted--back in the 1970s. Yes, 30-35 years ago. I have no idea whether the photos will ever see the light of day. However, a few years ago, a WP&Y shot of mine appeared in one of their model RRing books, and I received a small check and a copy of the book. So they * DO * use the photos in their collection, sometimes.

Kalmbach pays for photos upon publication--unlike articles, which they pay for at the time they accept them.

It can be very frustrating, but usually the alternative, in my experience, is that the photos or slides simply sit in a box in a closet at home.
