"... How can you beat great photography with some incredible camraderie [sic] as we return to Antonito after dark under a full moon. "
Them's mighty ro-mantical sentiments John! If you wax any more po-etical, You'll be a-puttin' your curmudgeonhood in serious jeopardy of impeachment ...
Becoming somewhat less curmudgeonly myself in my later years, I'm finding it hard to remember whether riding in the gon under the full moon - while a lady with a guitar strummed and sang softly - occurred on the Kiwanis trip in '64 or '66* or on one of the first C&TS moonlight dinner trains to Osier in '72 (or both). In any event, you have stirred some great memories, sir.** THANK YOU!!
And thank you also for convincing me to come along! I can hardly wait!!

* The '66 Kiwanis trip is most likely - the track was in poor shape by then, and we didn't get to Durango the first day until WELL after dark. They must have changed crews in Chama, or they'd have gone dead on the law coming up the hill beyond the new bridge!
** ... and later during dusk, rose-hued
reflections of the engine's fire
lit on clouds of smoke, and steam -
issued from the whistle's scream -
that hid the full moon rising through the clouds
