Last August, a local resident in Sunset had a septic tank installed in the area that would have been in front of the hotel. The excavation for the tank dug through two distinct sets of ties. Apparently, the C&N track was several feet higher than the original GSL&P track at that location. From the look of layering of dirt, it appeared that the GSL&P tracks were burried by a flood before the C&N tracks were laid.
This photo shows some tie material from the top (C&N level) and the end of a piece of rail from the lower (GSL&P)level:

There were a couple full lengths of rail pulled out with the excavation. Along the side of the cut, two complete rows of ties could be seen, but they didn't show up well in photos.
