The current thread regarding the last overhauled D&RGW engines in Alamosa got me to wondering just how many people were still working in the 1960's in the Alamosa shops. I know the work force was cut back as rebuilding cars etc. dropped off. Does anyone know what the organizational structure was in the waning years of the Alamosa shops? Are any of those who worked in the shops/ management still around to relate some stories and what it is was like to be there? I know if Bob Richardson was online he could probably answer some of these questions, so if no one else knows I will drop him a line.
