The picture in the first post was taken on my balcony with the car at about a 45 degree angle to let the sun in the sides. and just a simple cell phone camera pointed inside the end door was all she needed.
have posted a couple pics of it before, was origionaly to be 1 of 10 cars, however, I found the plans to be inaccurate so I scrapped the project. Ended up taking the car to convention in Durango, and despite some pieces being off just a little, I still took home a 2ond place award. Will restart the project after a while, working on some motive power first!!
The car is a 1:24th true scale (operating on 1.5" track, not 45mm gauge) representation of a D&RGW stock car from the 40s. Took about 6 months to construct and finish. I actually lettered the car at our campsite in Durango, the morning of the convention!!! It measures approx. 6.5" tall, 16" long, 4.5" wide.
Here are a couple of pics of the car, one on the real 5706 in Chama, one at the convention, and one of the award.
