Boy...talk about back to the future! Many of the early model railroaders (including Al Kalmbach) were printers and type metal was commonly used for making castings and weights back in the early days of the hobby! The trouble is, due to the almost complete switch-over to computer-based composting, where the heck does one even get type metal these days???
