At the end of December a thread was started about the possible sale by the D & S of Nos. 493 and 498. The thread seemed to peter out without any definite conclusion being reached - though it lead to the publishing of a very nice, if sad, rear three quarter view by Russo Loco of 498 on its final run.
I just wondered if there ever had been any truth in this rumour or was it just the product of a mellowed out Christmas evening.
