Thanks for posting this up date on latest developments in the dispute between RDC and the Guatemalan government.
Since the cessation of regular freight traffic and the movement of the two surviving Krupp built 150 class 2-8-2's from Zacapa to Guatemala City have there been any movements over the line from Guatemela City to Puerto Barrios to try and preserve the right of way or has all hope of maintaining the line been abandoned?
And what is know of the fate of the remaining steam locomotives. Presumably Nos 205 and 34 are reasonably safe as they are part of the museum collection but what, if any, are the plans for No.204, the last workable steam locomotive, Nos. 200, 177 119 and 116 which were latterly stored under cover and more or less intact at Guatemala City and the 2 Krupp built locomotives.
It would be nice if one of the surving 150 Class locomotives were to be repatriated to the U.S. as an example of what was probably the 20th C's most successful, judged by numbers built though from what I have read they were more than adequate performers, 3 ft gauge locomotives.
