This was the original Denver-Pueblo main line. When the C&S was formed in 1899, it moves its trains to the AT&SF line because of the more favorable grades.
Thge C&S was slow to dismantle the line south of Falcon and a track existed north of Pueblo past Overton for many years. It was used to car storage.
I hope this answers the question or at least passes on some new information.
