C&S Grade (NNG)

My wife works out at the new high school out in Falcon east of Colorado Springs. When driving US24 from around Peterson AFB to Falcon, it is fairly easy to pick out both the old Rock Island and C&S grades. Northeast of Falcon, the Rock Island grade is pretty obvious, but I had always wondered where the C&S grade went.

As I was driving on Eastonville Road toward Falcon High School, I spotted what was obviously a RR grade parallel to the road. I even spotted some trestle pilings at one point. The grade runs just east of the new high school, which is out in the middle of nowhere right now. I would guess this is the old C&S route, what else could it be.....?
