Andy,
Thanks for the suggestion. I did just join but haven't had a chance to look there yet. I know one of the members there is Steve Palmano who is also in the GE Loco group. He and I exchange info backchannel on a regular basis. I have actually recieved quite a bit of information from Jay Reed and others on the Railcritters forum. Plus I exchange information with P.A. Copeland and others.
I have been able to compile the following information so far, all of the 50/52 ton narrow gauge design, original owners only listed:
Chiriqui Land Co. (Panama) 8 units (including the first and last built)
Granada Co. (Dominican Republic) 2 units (the missing second order - 42" gauge?)
Cuban-American Railway - 3 units (the missing third order - gauge?)
Southern Pacific - 1 unit (36" gauge)
Northern RR of Costa Rica - 18 units
F.C. Nac. de Venezuela - 4 units (gauge? need to confirm model)
Manila RR (Philipines) 10 units
IRCA (Gautemala) 7 units
Total: 53 units
At least one of the Granada units went to CLC, two CLC units went to Bandegua, two CLC units to RDC (Mozambique?), two CLC units to Oregon, SP unit to Mexico. There are probably several more sales, transfer and regaugings. I am trying to confirm if the original owners (except SP and Manila) are related somehow to United Fruit (Chiquita).
These are all the 50 tons I would expect to find, but I have already been surprised several times. I am waiting for a source to check the USG units to see if they were part of the same drawing list as a 50/52T or their own drawing list.
