Thanks for the update on the equipment. Here is a reply to your question on OR&L colors froim a member of the Yahoo list on Hawaiian Railways :


The box cars were all a deep red color, almost a "dust red" if there is such a shade. However, the red was always faded by the constant sun
so that one might say the shade was "faded red". This held true for the all-wood cars as well as the 230 or so steel frame cars. Army cars were usually olive green and Navy cars either "battleship grey" or black. Gondola cars were red but flats were all black. The two caboose cars were the same color as the box cars.
