Yes I am still reading this thread. But I gave up on the inputs wondering when it will all end. There is nothing wrong with "Americanized" pronunciations in my opinion. But I've been reading about the Colorado NG roads for years and NO ONE has ever bothered (especially in print) to tell me how to pronounce places with names like Osier, or Rio Grande for that matter. Ya know, the news media uses phoenitic prounciations all the time, they pass them on with their articles so the talking heads reading the news to us know more about how to pronounce unfamiliar words.
But my original dumb question, has long been answered. No drumhead for the Sante Fe branch! Chili is just fine with me, apologies to all others. Later, Gary
