J. David Conrad's book
The Steam Locomotive Directory (1988) shows that Two of Robert Day's locomotives were sold in 1963 to a "H. W. Brunskill." These were 30"- gauge locomotives once used by the Pioneer Mill Co. at Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
#1 "Lahaina" 0-4-2 built by BLW 9/1882
#3 "Launiopoko" 0-4-2 built by BLW 12/1898
The earlier "U.S. Steam Locomotive Directory" by Victor Koenigsberg (1967) [and a source for Conrad] says that as its writing the locomotives were owned by H. W. Brunskill and were reported stored at "Wilmington Welding & Boiler Works."
I have not yet looked at any of the books on Hawaiian railways in my library.
As I recall, the fire that burned Mr. Day's was a major fire known as "The Bel Air fire" which occurred in November of 1961. Bel Air was and is an up-scale hillside residential area within Los Angeles city limits located between Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, north of Westwood. The fire burned 500 homes in two days.
Here is a brief mention of the fire in the history of one of the LA TV stations:
