The turntable is 65' long, and operates by air supplied from the Roundhouse.

At the time of Bob's picture in 1958, it could also be used by the old "Armstrong" method. You can see one of the Armstrong poles at the other end of the turntable, the one on the near side is cut off from view.

The operators platform was completely replaced in recent years by the D&S, as can be seen by comparing Dave's pictures to Bob's.

The bearing plate was replaced three or four years ago, which required the table to be removed from the pit. The decking is completly replaced every few years, so only the steel bridge and the stanchions and the "monkey works" of the motor remain from D&RGW days.

Pretty reliable, if seemingly frail mechanics.
