I've been sitting here for a couple hours trying to figure out how to fill out the survey. I am not a multi-dimentional guy, and being retired, I have the time to do mostly only what I want. Since becoming a certified narrow gauge nut 30 years ago, it didn't take long for me to find my favorite RR and era. That would be D&RGW narrow gauge in Colorado/New Mexico in the 1950's, And the RGS only because it completed the Circle, it was mostly D&RGW by then anyhow.
And besides the RGS would have only been another Mears road without the D&RGW to bridge them to the markets. Favorite whistle? Anybody notifying others of their intentions crossing the creek at Lobato, and the seemingly endless echoes diminishing into the surrounding canyons and returning from distant peaks to bring a tear to the eyes of anyone who understands that history and the present met at this spot today. And it's a rocky mountain high, Johnny. That'd be my fav. tooter.
Geo.
